JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide overall guidance and leadership across all aspects of quality globally; drive accountability through the identified and appointed regional Quality Leaders.  Direct the regional ME and Quality teams to support developing error proof processes ensuring customer satisfaction and the achievement of business results.  Direct regional product development teams in cognizance with regional leaders to ensure there is no lack of people capability, processes and tools to achieve a successful product launch and sustainable product lifecycle.  Develop strategic quality improvement goals and objectives across the organization and oversee successful completion of goals by directing regional teams.  Guide functional teams and cross-business teams to make improvements impacting key measures of the business.  Guide regional teams in developing quality assessments and audits focused on processes critical to customer and business success.  Direct Corporate Quality Systems Manager to successfully lead management of QMS across the organization.  Oversee the assessment of both Quality and Aftermarket team members' capabilities and skills by the respective Regional leaders; plan development opportunities of the regional leaders to meet the needs of both the individual and the business.  Sponsor Champion strategic customer improvement projects and communication on key metrics.  Responsible for end-to-end management of Aftermarket business.  Provide accurate assessment of the market and business plan to increase Nelson’s share in the Aftermarket segment.  Develop strategies and deploy actions for aftermarket revenue growth, margin improvement, new product introduction, etc.  Manage complex/complicated regional organization by developing relationships at all levels of the organization and especially the Managing Directors of each Regional Business Unit.  Manage aftermarket customers, distributors, and sales network.  Establish and improve processes related to costing, quoting, and sales drawing creation.  Manage teams and perform other duties and projects as required.  Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.  100% telecommuting permitted.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience as a Quality Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Manager, or related occupation in the automotive industry.  Certificate Requirements: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.  Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) 4 years of experience managing budgets including capital projects; (2) 10 years of experience managing plant quality and quality analytics; (3) 10 years of experience directing quality assessments and audits; (4) 5 years of experience managing a business regionally or globally; (5) 5 years of experience leading a team to launch products for automotive/commercial vehicle industry; (6) 5 years of experience defining investments in equipment, resources, tooling, and quality systems to improve and sustain product quality; (7) 2 years of experience in products, manufacturing processes, technologies used in engines, after treatments, power generators, and acoustics to help develop an aftermarket product plan; (8) 5 years of experience leading executive customer management to demonstrate quality improvement and enable business growth; (9) 5 years of experience steering overall quality activities and improvement processes for an organization to achieve continuous improvement with key operational metrics; (10) 5 years of experience utilizing automation and system capabilities to develop manufacturing sites and business processes that align with industry best practices; (11) 2 years of experience utilizing manufacturing operations, costing, pricing strategy, and materials management to ensure a positive customer experience resulting in additional new business opportunities; (12) 2 years of experience collaborating with global regional teams to source cost-effective products and promote business offerings in international markets; and (13) 2 years of experience leading senior-level decision-making initiatives to coordinate efforts across multiple regional and functional entities at all levels of the organization.
