ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Footwear to lead product creation, drive category strategy, and deliver strong fiscal performance across our footwear line. This is a high-impact leadership role for a candidate who blends creative direction, commercial acumen, and operational excellence to bring innovative, brand-defining footwear to market.

This role partners closely with the VP of Product on product vision, line architecture, consumer insight integration, product briefing, margin targets, and cross-functional execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Product Strategy Contribute to the long-term footwear vision, seasonal line plans, and category growth strategy aligned with brand and business goals
  • Line Architecture Build and manage the global product assortment, ensuring the right balance of innovation, franchise management, and margin contribution
  • Consumer Insights Partner with Marketing to translate trend, market, and consumer data into actionable product direction
  • Design Alignment Serve as the day-to-day connection ensuring designers and colorists are aligned to Brand Project Briefs and goals
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Design, Factory Development, Merchandising, Marketing, and Sourcing to deliver products on time, on cost, and on brief
  • Innovation Pipeline Collaborate on new technologies, materials, and construction methods that elevate performance, comfort, and sustainability
  • Product Fit & Clinical Compliance Work alongside the Education and Clinical team to ensure regulatory and clinical consumer needs are executed
  • Financial Ownership Manage development costs, margin targets, pricing to market, and SKU productivity
  • Go-to-Market Leadership Craft storytelling, positioning, and launch readiness alongside the VP, Marketing, and Sales

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 10+ years of experience in footwear product creation, merchandising, or design; 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Deep understanding of footwear construction, materials, development timelines, and factory processes
  • Proven track record of delivering commercially successful and brand-defining product lines
  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing category P&L and margin optimization
  • Ability to lead and influence across global, matrixed organizations
  • Experience with performance, lifestyle, or fashion footwear
