This is an exempt, full-time position and must adhere to the regulations stipulated in the Mount Marty University Employee Handbook. The Director of Financial Aid has responsibility for the function of the Financial Aid Office and its support of students through planning, organizing and administering federal, state, institution and private financial aid programs and their related compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administration of financial aid programs with thorough knowledge of guidelines and regulations
- Provide counseling services to students and parents
- Responsible for preparation of Single Audit documents and facilitation of the audit with external auditors
- Participate in and make recommendations to the annual scholarship strategy committee that are consistent with the enrollment management objectives of the University
- Maintain statistical data on the entire financial aid program administered by the university each year
- Responsible for completing the periodic reports required by the Federal Government for the financial aid programs it sponsors
- Implement the university policies governing financial aid awards to students
- Implement and monitor internal controls within the University's ERP software, within the duties of the financial aid office personnel, and across the university as it relates to the administration of the financial aid programs and student information
- Utilize and maintain the financial aid module in the university's student information system (SIS). Ensures that the system is used effectively and that processes and product enhancements are developed which are technologically up-to-date and user/student friendly
- Maintain records and correspondence on all forms of financial aid to students involved
- Serve as chairperson of the Financial Assistance Committee
- Maintain a file of information concerning various types of government assistance programs, Army, Navy, and Air Force Nurse Programs, Veterans Administration, etc., and keeps abreast of all changes in programs
- Manage and evaluate the financial aid counselor and associate director of enrollment operations and financial aid
- Perform other duties as assigned by the vice president of enrollment management
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree required
- Equivalent to three years of experience in the field of financial management involving fiscal analysis and planning (one year of the required experience must have been in a college or university financial aid office with responsibility for the analysis of student financial needs, determination of financial aid eligibility, review of financial aid applications, and the awarding of financial aid). Two years of the qualifying experience must have been in a supervisory lead capacity.
