We are currently seeking candidates for a Director of Finance position. The role is with a well-established and highly regarded professional services firm based in New York City. The Director of Finance will lead the finance and accounting function.

This individual will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and financial planning, while partnering closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including month-end close and reconciliations
Oversee project-based accounting, including WIP tracking and analysis
Manage billing, collections, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses
Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Oversee tax filings, banking relationships, and cash management
Manage insurance programs, benefits administration, and financial policies
Partner with leadership on financial planning, profitability, and operational strategy

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred
10+ years of progressive experience, ideally within a professional services or project-based environment
Strong experience with WIP/project accounting
Proven ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills
