Jennie Joiner with Forum Group PNW is partnering with a mission-driven organization to hire a Director of Finance in Medford, Oregon. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Finance will partner closely with the Executive Director to drive strategic decision-making while overseeing the full scope of daily financial operations. This role blends high-level strategy with hands-on execution and is ideal for someone who enjoys both big-picture thinking and being involved in the details. The organization operates with multiple funding streams, including grants and healthcare-related revenue, creating a dynamic environment that requires strong financial leadership and compliance oversight.


What You’ll Be Doing


Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with executive leadership to guide financial strategy and long-term planning
  • Present financial insights and reporting to leadership and the Board of Directors
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend improvements

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy of financial statements
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
  • Manage cash flow and financial planning

Grant & Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee grant accounting, reporting, and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and funding requirements
  • Support contract management, including healthcare-related funding
  • Monitor billing processes, reconciliations, and audit readiness

Audit & Reporting

  • Lead annual audits, including single audit preparation
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure documentation and compliance standards are met

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and support the finance team, including Controller and payroll functions
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Partner cross-functionally to support financial understanding across the organization

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage, UKG, or similar preferred)
  • Payroll experience is a plus
  • Background in nonprofit, healthcare, or grant-funded environments strongly preferred
  • Exposure to medical billing systems is a bonus
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
