We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated professional to join our leadership team and direct our finance and accounting functions at our K-3 through Grade 12 Catholic School. The Director of Finance is responsible for maintaining all of SJCA''s daily financial operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable; as well as developing the annual budget, preparing student financial aid information, and communicating financial information to the President and Board of Directors. The Director should be detail-oriented and have technical accounting skills, be able to communicate financial matters clearly and tactfully with the academy's various stakeholders and demonstrate patience in resolving financial issues brought forward by faculty, staff, and families. This position will report directly to the President.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting systems, policies, and procedures to provide effective control of all financial transactions.
  • Serve as SJCA'' s Wisconsin Parental Choice Program and Special Needs Scholarship Program authorized designee responsible for audits, enrollment, and reconciliation of payments from the Department of Public Instruction.
  • Coordinate and complete SJCA''s annual DPI audits.
  • Analyze financial data and communicate the Academy's current and projected financial status to best inform SJCA''s Administrative Leadership team w while evaluating long-term planning initiatives.
  • Direct the annual budgeting process by working closely with the Administrative Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure daily operations of the finance department are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage the Academy's insurance programs.
  • Process all accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll deductions.
  • Work closely with the Director of Admissions to inform current and prospective families of the financial aid process, and to determine the allocation of these funds.
  • Create financial statements and other reports that are accurate and appropriate for various audiences.
  • Address and resolve financial issues with faculty and staff, families, and the general public.
  • Manage bid processes and business contracts for SJCA''s financial arrangements.
  • Assist the Annual Auction by managing the bank processes on the night of the Auction.
  • Perform additional program duties as assigned by SJCA''s President.
