Job Details

Our client is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to serve as a key member of the firm’s leadership team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and daily management of all financial and accounting operations while partnering closely with executive leadership and administrative management.

This position is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic professional services environment and enjoys balancing strategic financial planning with operational execution.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
  • Preparing monthly financial reports, profitability analyses, compensation reporting, and shareholder performance metrics
  • Managing cash flow, expense control, and financial performance tracking
  • Overseeing year-end financial processes, including profit sharing, deferred compensation, distributions, and shareholder transitions
  • Supporting lateral recruitment efforts through financial modeling and integration planning
  • Evaluating and implementing accounting system enhancements and emerging technologies, including AI solutions
  • Managing all accounting operations, including payroll, billing, collections, trust accounts, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
  • Ensuring compliance with trust accounting requirements, tax regulations, payroll obligations, and audit standards
  • Maintaining internal controls and safeguarding firm assets
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the accounting team
  • Collaborating with firm leadership and administrative departments to improve operational efficiency

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive accounting and finance experience, advanced financial systems knowledge, and exceptional attention to detail. Prior experience within a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
