The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University''s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The Director of Faculty Engagement will support the development of faculty at different career stages by developing comprehensive faculty engagement initiatives delivered through a variety of modalities as appropriate.

The Director will focus on:

  • Advancing faculty research and scholarship.
  • Introducing faculty to campus resource.
  • Directing faculty mentorship and career development programs.
  • Fostering a robust and collaborative scholarly community and academic culture.
  • Cultivating leadership skills across all ranks.

The Director will support BUs mission as a world class research university that also values pedagogical excellence. Collaborating actively with key partners, including college deans and faculty developers, Faculty Fellows, the Institute for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (IETL), and the Office of Research and Development (ORD), is integral to the role.

Required Skills

  • A Ph.D. is required.
  • At least 4-7 years of experience in relevant aspects of higher education faculty development.
  • A record of peer-reviewed research and publishing; demonstrated success designing and managing programs in complex academic environments.
  • Relevant professional development; strong project management and communication skills.
  • Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
