Position Summary

The Director of Facilities Management & Asset Enhancements is a corporate role responsible for overseeing facilities management oversight, capital planning, renovation programs, resort development, and sustainability initiatives across a portfolio of hotel and resort assets.

The role provides corporate oversight of hotel preventive maintenance and facility programs through collaboration with property leadership, including the General Manager, Hotel Manager, Executive Assistant Manager (EAM) and hotel Engineering Leaders. While day-to-day engineering operations remain at property level, this position ensures alignment with corporate standards, asset preservation goals, operational efficiency, sustainability objectives, and long-term product competitiveness.

A key focus is maintaining and enhancing property quality and market positioning through effective preventive maintenance programs, strategic renovations, and capital investment planning.

Essential Functions

Facility Oversight & Preventive Maintenance

  • Oversee corporate facility management and preventive maintenance programs across all properties.
  • Collaborate with GM, HM, EAM and Engineering Leaders to review, refine, and adjust preventive maintenance programs based on asset conditions and operational needs.
  • Conduct facility audits and property condition assessments to ensure asset quality, compliance, and long-term performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including maintenance compliance, utility usage, and facility-related guest impact.
  • Support implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), energy management, and reporting tools.

Capital Planning, Renovation & Development

  • Lead corporate capital projects, renovations, and property improvement initiatives.
  • Develop annual capital budgets and long-term renovation programs aligned with asset strategy and ownership goals.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, design coordination, execution, and closeout.
  • Integrate sustainability, energy efficiency, and decarbonization strategies into all capital projects.
  • Ensure renovations enhance guest experience, product quality, and market competitiveness.
  • Work closely with senior management to carry out special project(s) as assigned.

Sustainability & Asset Performance

  • Drive initiatives to improve energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and carbon reduction across the portfolio.
  • Support long-term asset preservation strategies and lifecycle planning.
  • Identify operational risks and support corrective action planning with property leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the corporate liaison for facility, development, and sustainability functions.
  • Work closely with General Manager, Hotel Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, Engineering Leaders, and ownership groups.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Development teams on capital strategy and execution.
  • Support hotel openings, renovations, conversions, and transitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Demonstrated 10+ years of experience in hospitality facilities, construction, development, or capital project management.
  • Multi-property hotel or resort experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in capital planning, construction, renovations, and facility performance oversight.
  • Experience with CMMS and hotel asset management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices strongly preferred.
