KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Director of Enterprise Data Analytics & GIS (IT Officer II) in Ventura County, California.
Overview:
The Director of Enterprise Data Analytics & GIS is responsible for leading enterprise-wide data and geospatial initiatives that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and enhanced service delivery across a complex organization.
Reporting to senior IT leadership, this role oversees the full lifecycle of enterprise data capabilities, including data architecture, data engineering, data governance, analytics, and business intelligence. In addition, the position leads the organization's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program, ensuring geospatial data and spatial analysis are effectively leveraged across departments.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical oversight and requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to advance data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Strategy & Analytics
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise data strategy, including data architecture, engineering, governance, and analytics platforms
- Drive initiatives to integrate and analyze data across multiple enterprise systems (e.g., financial, operational, infrastructure, and public-facing systems)
- Establish standards and best practices for data management, analytics, and business intelligence
- Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical models to support leadership decision-making
- Promote the use of data-driven insights for performance management, policy analysis, and resource allocation
GIS Program Leadership
- Oversee and manage enterprise GIS capabilities as a strategic function
- Ensure effective use of geospatial data and spatial analysis to support planning, operations, infrastructure management, and public safety
- Lead development of mapping services, spatial analysis tools, and geospatial data management practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with departments to identify opportunities to improve operations through data and analytics
- Provide guidance on effective use of analytics tools, reporting platforms, and GIS capabilities
- Support cross-departmental initiatives through integrated data solutions
Team Leadership & Program Management
- Lead and mentor a technical team supporting data analytics and GIS services
- Oversee project delivery, vendor relationships, and contracted services
- Establish and enforce standards for data quality, reporting, visualization, and geospatial data management
Technology & Infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT leadership to design and maintain enterprise data platforms and analytics environments
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational needs
- Support development and maintenance of data pipelines, integration frameworks, and reporting systems
Systems & Technologies:
- Enterprise data platforms, analytics tools, and reporting systems
- Data governance frameworks (data quality, stewardship, metadata management)
- Business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
- Data integration and engineering tools
- GIS platforms and geospatial technologies (e.g., Esri ArcGIS or similar)
- Cloud-based data and analytics environments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Geography, GIS, Public Administration, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or related fields
- Experience leading analytics initiatives, technical teams, or enterprise data programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and managing enterprise data platforms and analytics ecosystems
- Experience working with GIS platforms and geospatial data
- Background supporting analytics for complex operational environments (e.g., infrastructure, public services, or large organizations)
- Experience with modern data technologies and cloud-based analytics platforms
- Strong ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant certifications in data analytics, GIS, or cloud technologies
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances as applicable
- Valid driver's license (if required for role responsibilities)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders
Work Environment:
- Standard full-time schedule with flexibility based on organizational needs
- May require occasional extended hours to support operational priorities
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $127-195k/year DOE
