As the Director of Enterprise Architecture, you will be responsible for leading the architecture strategy, governance, and execution across infrastructure, applications, data, AI, and cybersecurity. You will be instrumental in aligning technology with business goals in a multi-client, shared services model supporting multiple mutual insurance companies.

In this role, you will leverage extensive expertise in cloud-native architecture, modern core systems such as Guidewire, digital platforms, and AI-driven automation. You will also play a key role in driving governance and modernization initiatives across multiple domains. As the Director of Enterprise Architecture, you will lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB), providing architectural direction and oversight for enterprise initiatives.

Accountabilities:

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Define and execute a forward-looking enterprise architecture strategy supporting multi-tenant, scalable, modular platforms across the P&C insurance business.
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB), setting architectural standards, reviewing solutions, and ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and technology principles.
  • Develop and maintain current and future-state architecture blueprints, modernization roadmaps, and solution evaluation frameworks.

Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture

  • Architect hybrid and public cloud solutions on AWS and Azure, leveraging microservices, Kubernetes, serverless design, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm).
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure secure, resilient, and observable platforms using CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native tooling.

Application & Integration Architecture

  • Architect and guide development of digital, backend-agnostic applications integrated with core systems (Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
  • Drive API-first architecture and event-driven integration across systems using Kafka, REST/GraphQL, and middleware layers.

Data, AI, and Automation Architecture

  • Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to define data architecture that supports real-time insights, AI enablement, and data governance.
  • Drive AI architecture and automation design — supporting use cases in intelligent document processing, predictive underwriting, and claims triage.
  • Ensure secure and ethical use of AI/ML models within business and operational platforms.
  • Guide data integration patterns for both operational and analytical platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance.

Security and Compliance Architecture

  • Embed security-by-design and zero-trust principles into all layers of architecture.
  • Ensure architectural compliance with NAIC, SOC 2, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards in cloud, data, and application domains.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to define and enforce security architecture standards.

Governance & Technology Strategy

  • Lead ARB governance and architecture steering forums; ensure architectural consistency and documentation across all domains.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that provide competitive advantages or operational efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering leads, business stakeholders, and product managers to ensure architecture accelerates digital product delivery.
