Job Purpose:Completes engineering projects by developing and evaluating project plans and progress.Duties: * Establishes project objectives by analyzing project proposal; collaborating with management. * Establishes project plan by determining time frame, funding, and staffing; approving project schedule. * Organizes project staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff members; assigning responsibilities; approving contractors. * Establishes and achieves financial objectives by preparing a project budget; scheduling and approving expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. * Approves project specifications by analyzing product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; authorizing technical studies. * Confirms product performance by establishing standards; testing requirements. * Controls project plan by approving design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes. * Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. * Maintains project staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Maintains safe and clean working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. * Maintains project data base by developing information requirements; designing an information system. * Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations; coordinating with government regulatory agencies. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Skills/Qualifications:Project Management, Planning, Product Management, Performance Management, Basic Safety, Database Design, Coaching, Quality Focus, Results Driven, Teamwork, Dealing with Complexity
