Director of Emmaus Ministries, (Exempt), Reports to Executive Director, Upper Room Programs

The Director of Emmaus Ministries provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for all initiatives within Emmaus Ministries. This role ensures the theological integrity, mission alignment, and global impact of the ministry while helping manage the Emmaus Ministries staff team. The Director works closely with The Upper Room's Sales, Marketing, Fund Development, and technical teams, and collaborates with global and regional leaders to enhance and expand Emmaus Ministries communities worldwide.

This position will collaborate with the Executive Director and other departments to enhance ministry impact through cross-functional strategies. Acts as the primary liaison to the Emmaus Ministries Advisory Board, influencing high-level guidance and strategic decisions. Will help delegate tasks related to program implementation, logistics, scheduling and community support. Will ensure clarity in staff roles and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and spiritual commitment. Responsible for financial health and sustainability through effective budget management, fund development collaboration, and innovative use of technology to enhance program accessibility.

Will also ensure Emmaus Ministries' alignment with The Upper Room's mission and values, fostering innovative initiatives that expand global reach and sustain theological integrity. Promotes spiritual vitality and growth within Emmaus Ministries' global communities, ensuring program consistency and fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and ecumenical collaboration.

Education / Experience

Master of Divinity (preferred for clergy), Bachelor's Degree (for laity) in relevant field or equivalency.

At least 5 years of leadership experience in Christian ministry, preferably with some leadership in retreat-based spiritual formation ministry.
