JOB GOAL:
The Director of Elementary Schools provides administrative oversight, strategic
leadership and instructional supports for elementary schools. This individual will
provide leadership, guidance, coaching and support to elementary school principals and
assistant principals to drive student achievement and ensure the implementation of
district curriculum, policies and procedures. Working under the Chief of Schools and
Staff, the Director serves as a critical bridge between the district's central office and the
daily operations of elementary schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Member of School Leadership Team
Supervision and Evaluation: Conduct regular observations and evaluations of
assigned school principals to assess their performance in various areas,
including instructional leadership, school management, and community
engagement.
programs and training sessions tailored to the needs of individual principals and
assistant principals, aimed at enhancing their leadership skills, instructional
practices, and decision-making abilities. This position will work with the Chief of
Schools and Staff to lead monthly principal meetings and will take the lead role
on facilitating monthly elementary assistant principal meetings.
principals and assistant principals, offering constructive feedback, guidance, and
support to help them address challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve their
professional goals.
issues with site registrars and administrators. Receive and review residency
requests and maintain residency database systems. Compile information and
maintain a variety of records and logs related to home visits and assigned
activities. Prepare all materials related to residency verification and assist with
the registration process at the District office. Develop procedures, protocols, and
prioritization for residency checks.
elementary school intra and inter-district transfers. Final decision maker for
elementary transfer requests and responsible for all communication to families
related to transfers. Prepare and report transfer capacity numbers to the Board of
Education.
adherence to the district attendance policies. Maintain collaboration with the
Edmond Police Department related to truancy and attendance expectations.
implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with the goals and objectives
of the school district, ensuring that principals are equipped to lead effectively in
line with these priorities.
compliant with district policies, procedures, and regulations, providing guidance
and clarification as needed to support their adherence to established standards.
relevant metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making
processes aimed at enhancing school effectiveness and student achievement.
community members, and other stakeholders, serving as a liaison between
principals and the broader community to promote transparency, collaboration,
and mutual understanding.
principals in navigating crisis situations, emergencies, or other challenging
circumstances, ensuring that appropriate protocols are followed and effective
communication strategies are employed.
administrators, school board members, and other stakeholders to promote a
cohesive and supportive educational environment, while also maintaining open
and transparent communication channels with principals.
research in educational leadership and administration, continuously seeking
opportunities for professional growth and improvement to enhance the
effectiveness of principal supervision and support.

in facilitating and ensuring consistent implementation of MTSS practices and
procedures in all elementary schools.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
Two hundred and forty (240) contract days.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Chief of Schools and Staff in
accordance with the provisions of the Edmond School Board's policies and State Law of
Oklahoma.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the organization, administration, and supervision of assigned
elementary principals or programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid administrative certification/license
? Previous experience as a school principal or in a related leadership role
? Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, school management, and
personnel supervision
? Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
? Ability to analyze data, make data-driven decisions, and implement
evidence-based practices
? Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and regulations governing education
? Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education
? Ability to travel between school sites within the district as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
? Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the area of curriculum
and/or administration or other relevant field required. Doctoral degree preferred.
? Minimum of three (3) years of current school administration experience and/or
central office experience required.
? Minimum of three (3) years as a building principal required.
? Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a teacher in public
schools.
? Central office leadership experience or equivalent education, training, and
relevant professional experience are also considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general
public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain
accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of
position.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and/or concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The ability to lead a large, diverse organization is such a manner as to promote high
performance, efficiency and quality throughout the organization, in such a fashion as to

Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies need to
perform essential job functions. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and

vendors and contractor, students, facility, administration, staff and the community.
Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings. Ability to
communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform
duties with awareness of all district requirements and Edmond Board of Education
policies.
