We are seeking an experienced Director of Electrical & Embedded Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and embedded engineers developing advanced ProAV and embedded systems for the Medical, Defense, and Enterprise markets.
This role combines technical leadership, project execution, and team development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys guiding system architecture, solving complex technical challenges, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-performance products from concept through production.
You will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of products while ensuring designs meet performance, quality, regulatory, and schedule objectives.
This is an on-site leadership role within Product Development and Engineering (not remote or hybrid). We offer a fast-paced, high-impact engineering environment with opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Design & Development
Lead the development of embedded hardware architectures, balancing performance requirements with production cost targets through trade studies and system analysis.
Guide schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and design practices to ensure signal integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation, and thermal performance.
Architect and integrate systems using microcontrollers, FPGAs, and SoCs with interfaces such as I²C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, CAN, RS-232/422/485, and PCIe.
Support firmware and FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL) for embedded control, communications, and real-time video transport.
Oversee design of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for video processing, control systems, and power management.
Define and execute design verification and validation activities, including board bring-up, stress testing, and environmental qualification.
Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, simulation tools, and documentation standards.
Technical Excellence & Collaboration
Conduct and participate in peer reviews of hardware designs, schematics, and embedded code.
Troubleshoot complex system challenges across analog, digital, and high-speed domains, using structured root cause analysis.
Develop and maintain hardware engineering processes that improve design quality and reduce development cycle time.
Maintain proper engineering documentation, configuration management, and version control.
Interface with customers, vendors, and internal teams to define requirements and ensure successful product delivery.
Leadership & Project Management
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of electrical and embedded engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
Manage engineering activities including project scheduling, resource planning, and milestone tracking.
Oversee the full lifecycle of electrical design projectsfrom concept through productionensuring high technical standards and timely execution.
Provide regular status updates and technical guidance to senior engineering leadership.
Lead formal design reviews including System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
Ensure compliance with relevant standards including IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and MIL-STD where applicable.
Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, software, production, and QA teams to deliver integrated product solutions.
Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
