Director, e-Commerce (Mid-Atlantic)

What you will be doing

The Director of eCommerce/Division Lead is an integral member of the leadership team that is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Mid-Atlantic Division online sales and operations. This includes developing and implementing e-commerce strategies, managing online platforms, optimizing customer experience, and driving revenue growth through Home Delivery, Drive Up and Go, and 3PL Third Party Logistic models. This role directly leads a divisional team responsible for partnering with division and corporate teams coordinating the set-up, ordering, and execution of initiatives across the division. This role will also partner closely with division leadership to coordinate initiative implementation and rollout while ensuring KPI's productivity goals, and day to day operations are being met and exceeded to provide exceptional customer experience.

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual with a strong aptitude for data, metrics, storytelling, innovation, and leadership. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to think creatively will be essential in driving customer growth through digital engagement. This role will report to the SVP of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic Division of Albertsons Companies and will be based in the Mid-Atlantic market.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day and end-to-end operations for the Mid-Atlantic Division's e-commerce site, overseeing consumer-facing experience, inventory planning and management, and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term innovative strategies to drive continued e-commerce growth through creative digital programs, leveraging data-driven insights.
  • Lead program management including forecasts, seasonality, inventory/collateral planning, and supply.
  • Influence and build strong partnerships across Corporate, Division leadership, Store Management, and Finance to optimize regional performance by meeting sales and EBITDA targets, service level and financial goals while bringing a sense of urgency and prioritization.
  • Implement growth initiatives, business model development, and optimization in current Drive Up and Go and 3PL business applications.
  • Build a high productivity and world class service culture within the operations leadership and be a customer champion to enable a friction-less shopping experience through seeking customer feedback.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements to continuously improve strategies and programs.
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor site performance, customer behavior, and eCommerce program effectiveness.
  • Drive the adoption of key performance metrics for operations and service teams to identify levers for efficiency gains, productivity, and quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, IT, and logistics teams to ensure the seamless execution of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead and execute critical high impact business projects for the division and ensure they are delivered within planned timelines and expected output.
  • Develop, coach, and retain high performing teams, by providing growth opportunities and building bench strength and skillsets.
  • Communicate regularly with district and company leadership to provide updates on initiatives and results.
  • Support company-wide initiatives and collaborate with other teams to share best practices and drive consistency.
  • Act as a role model for ethical behavior and promote a culture of integrity and accountability within the division.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in operations within large scale grocery, retail, or CPG businesses.
  • Multi-unit, District manager and / or retail operations experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing, or equivalent combination work experience.
  • RMCP or MBA a plus
  • Experience in leading operational and strategic initiatives end-to-end and working with critical stakeholders while running multiple projects and or work-streams simultaneously.
  • Availability to work a retail schedule that includes 5 days on-site/infield, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel up to 70% of the work week across the division.
