Director of Distribution

Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Director of Distribution in Irvine, CA Area!  The candidate will oversee the distribution team overseeing Warehouse, Transportation, Maintenance, and Sanitation operations. In this role, you’ll drive efficiency, ensure exceptional service to retail locations, and lead teams across multiple sites.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations across warehouse, transportation, and maintenance teams.
• Review staffing plans, schedules, and department priorities to ensure smooth workflow.
• Communicate operational updates to store teams and division office partners.
• Analyze operational reports and P&L statements to monitor performance.
• Partner with HR and department leaders to assess manpower needs and develop staffing plans.
• Address associate questions, hotline calls, grievances, and labor‑related issues.
• Approve or decline store credit requests.
• Collaborate with leadership on quarterly projections and operational planning.
• Support associate development and create advancement plans with department managers.
• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to ensure safety, compliance, and process improvement.
• Assist in developing annual capital expenditure budgets.
• Direct oversight of Warehouse Operations Manager, Facility Maintenance Manager, and Transportation Manager.
• Indirect leadership of all warehouse, maintenance, and transportation associates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field,
• Strong understanding of retail food store operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
• Ability to represent the company in negotiations with external partners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency; experience with spreadsheets and word processing preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage administrative tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to stay focused and productive despite frequent interruptions.
