OVERVIEW:

DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is a Catholic, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1964, the 550-acre suburban campus is located about 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,000 includes undergraduate day, evening, and graduate students. POSITION SUMMARY:

Working closely with the Managing Director and Artistic Director, the Director of Development leads a two-person team to plan and implement fundraising strategies for the festival raising over $1.1 million annually with increases in the coming years. Fundraising is accomplished through multiple avenues including solicitation of current and prospective individual and corporate donors, cultivation and stewardship, special events, foundation and government grants, government relations, and annual appeals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 2-5 years experience in fundraising,
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel to meet with prospects and donors in the community
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
