Director of Curriculum & Instruction Classification: Certified Administrator | Reports To: Superintendent Posting Date: 6/8/26 Interviews: Week of 6/15/26 POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Curriculum & Instruction serves as the district''s primary educational leader responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive PreK-12 curriculum aligned with Ohio content standards. This position carries broad administrative responsibility across curriculum design, state and federal testing coordination, professional development, student support programs, and instructional technology integration. The Director works collaboratively with building principals, teachers, and community stakeholders to ensure all students have equitable access to a high-quality educational experience. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Curriculum & Instruction
- Lead the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of PreK-12 curriculum across all content areas in accordance with Ohio''s Learning Standards.
- Apply evidence-based practices grounded in the Science of Reading to strengthen literacy instruction district-wide at all grade levels.
- Monitor and evaluate instructional programs to ensure rigor, relevance, and alignment with student achievement goals.
- Collaborate with building leaders and teachers to design and implement high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials.
- Coordinate with literacy specialist and/or math specialist.
Career Technical Education (CTE)
- Oversee and support the district''s Career Technical Education programs, ensuring alignment with Ohio''s CTE content standards and state-approved program frameworks.
- Collaborate with CTE instructors and building administrators to integrate academic content standards into career-technical coursework.
- Monitor program approval, compliance, and reporting requirements in coordination with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
- Support pathways for students to earn industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and articulated college credit through CTE programming.
- Facilitate partnerships with local businesses, industries, and post-secondary institutions to strengthen career readiness opportunities for students.
Assessment & Testing Coordination
- Serve as the District Test Coordinator for all Ohio State Assessments across all grade levels, ensuring full compliance with Ohio Department of Education policies and procedures.
- Serve as the District ACT Test Coordinator, managing administration, scheduling, accommodations, and reporting.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and communication of assessment data to inform instructional decisions and program planning.
- Maintain security, integrity, and compliance for all local, state, and national assessments.
Federal Programs & Compliance
- Plan, administer, and monitor federal programs including Title I, Title II, and other applicable grants, ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.
- Serve as the district''s Title IX Coordinator, investigating complaints, maintaining records, and ensuring equitable treatment in all educational programs and activities.
- Serve as the district''s McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison, identifying, enrolling, and providing support and resources to students experiencing homelessness.
- Prepare, submit, and manage federal program applications, budgets, reports, and documentation.
Professional Development
- Design and coordinate a comprehensive, job-embedded professional development program for all district staff aligned with instructional priorities and district goals.
- Facilitate training on instructional best practices, curriculum implementation, and assessment literacy.
- Administer the district''s Public School Works platform for staff training compliance and tracking.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning and adjust programming based on staff feedback and student outcome data.
Instructional Technology Integration
- Collaborate with the district Technology Coordinator to integrate digital tools and technology resources into the curriculum in meaningful, standards-aligned ways.
- Support teachers and students in troubleshooting access and integration issues with instructional technology platforms, ensuring equitable and uninterrupted access to digital learning resources.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Ohio administrative specialist license (or eligibility for licensure) or principal licensure.
- Master''s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Ohio''s K-12 content and learning standards across subject areas.
- Training and expertise in the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy instruction.
- Experience with Ohio State Assessment administration and federal program compliance preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the district''s administrator salary schedule. This is a 220-260 day administrative position.
