iMentor is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Director of Corporate Partnerships to build and manage a growing portfolio of corporate funders. This role is central to advancing iMentors mission to help students in under-resourced communities succeed in college and beyond by securing and growing corporate philanthropic investment.

At a moment when companies are rethinking how to build the future workforce and address widening opportunity gaps, this role will help translate corporate priorities into meaningful partnerships that expand access to mentorship, networks, and career pathways for young people. This is an exciting moment at iMentor, as we expand our national partnerships strategy and deepen our work at the intersection of mentorship and economic opportunity.

Reporting to the National Managing Director of Institutional Partnerships, the Director is a key member of the Development team within External Relations. This is an individual contributor role for a fundraiser who can both cultivate new opportunities and manage a complex portfolio with strong execution and attention to detail, while bringing a strategic, multi-year lens to corporate partnerships and supporting the evolution of iMentors national partnership strategy.

The Director will manage a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects, securing 5-6 figure philanthropic investments through grants and sponsorships. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate and align internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful partner engagement and measurable impact.

Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of 3050 corporate partners and prospects with an annual revenue goal of $23 million.

  • Execute full lifecycle fundraising, including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

  • Bring a long-term, strategic perspective to portfolio management, aligning partnerships to broader organizational priorities and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new corporate funders aligned with iMentors priorities.

  • Lead annual forecasting and reforecasting for your portfolio and pipeline; track progress against goals and adjust strategy as needed.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and partner with Development Operations to support reporting and performance tracking.

Corporate Partnership Development & Stewardship

  • Identify and engage new corporate prospects through research, outreach, and networking.

  • With support from Corporate Development Manager, develop tailored concepts, proposals, pitches, and partnership strategies that align corporate philanthropic priorities with iMentors programs and impact, while creating opportunities for deeper, multi-dimensional engagement across employee engagement, brand visibility, strategic communications, and potential earned revenue opportunities.

  • Structure and negotiate philanthropic partnerships, including grants and sponsorships and select fee-for-service opportunities.

  • Lead stewardship and benefits fulfillment for corporate partners, ensuring a high-quality and consistent partner experience.

  • Oversee delivery of corporate benefits, including volunteer engagement, event activations, and corporate trainings, in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Represent iMentor externally at meetings, events, and industry convenings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Grants Management

  • Partner closely with Program, Finance, Marketing & Communications, Research & Evaluation and Development Operations teams to scope partnerships, develop budgets, and define impact metrics.

  • Lead grants management and compliance for your portfolio, ensuring deliverables, reporting, and timelines are met in coordination with internal stakeholders.

  • Monitor progress against grant commitments and proactively address risks or challenges.

  • Coordinate internally to ensure strong execution of partnerships and alignment across teams.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Institutional Giving to align on shared accounts and strategy, including board leadership, fundraising events, and more.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on corporate partnerships, institutional giving, or related areas.

  • Proven success managing a portfolio and meeting revenue goals in the $23 million range.

  • Experience securing and managing corporate gifts, grants, or sponsorships in the $50,000 - $500,000 range.

  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to manage both fundraising and partner engagement/benefits fulfillment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and report development.

  • Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

  • Familiarity with grants management, funder reporting, and cross-functional project coordination.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of taking initiative and building new opportunities.

  • Collaborative, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to iMentors mission and to expanding opportunity for young people.

Location & Travel

  • Based in a major metropolitan area, ideally New York City or Chicago.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for partner meetings, events, and internal collaboration.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary $105,000 to $115,000 annually commensurate with experience

  • Up to 100% employer-funded comprehensive medical and dental coverage.
