Summary: The Information Officer (IO)is responsible for the development, organization, and direction of all public relation events for Proviso Township High Schools. This position will require an innovative, forward-thinking, experienced communications professional who is an outgoing and dynamic leader. The IO is responsible for all forms of communication with parents and the broader community. Creating a vision and brand for Proviso Township High Schools and a positive student-centered image in multimedia is essential. This position will establish positive relationships with the media, newspapers, governmental agencies and business partners to foster and develop relationships on behalf of the District.
The Information Officer (IO)will also write and distribute high-quality editorial material targeted to specific audiences and the public. The IO will draft and send press releases that contain important updates about the District to print and broadcast media outlets.

Selection Process:
All applicants must complete a District application to be considered for employment. Applications will be reviewed. Interviews of selected qualified applicants will be conducted, and a qualified candidate will be recommended by the hiring supervisor to the Office of Human Resources. District 209 ensures equal employment opportunity, as outlined in Board Policy 5:10. The Superintendent is responsible for making final hiring recommendations to the Proviso Township High Schools Board of Education. Employment is subject to the recommendation of the Superintendent, the approval of the Board of Education and the results of required processes outlined in Board Policy 5:30.
