SUMMARY
The Young School of Nursing, Weston Campus Program is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor, with the role of Director of the Clinical Resource & Simulation Center. The Clinical and Resource Simulation Center (CRSC) Director is accountable to the Associate Dean and the Dean of the Nursing School of Nursing (SON) to promote adherence to academic standards and ensure the integrity, excellence and ongoing development of the nursing clinical resource and simulation educational programs. The Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall operations of the center and collaboratively creating a cohesive parallel curriculum with course faculty. This position represents the Nursing program regarding the clinical simulation and resource center and collaboratively develops the adjunct lab faculty schedule to guarantee maximum utilization to exceed student learning objectives and outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Curriculum Management
- In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Nursing and other Pre-licensure Program Directors, the CRSC aligns its activities with national, regional, and local accreditation standards to support student learning objectives and outcomes.
Schedule and Course Management
- Manages the CRSC to examine, implement, and evaluate efficient and effective delivery methods.
- Develops CRSC and laboratory adjunct schedules in coordination with the Associate Dean, Program Directors, and the Director of Clinical Coordination for Pre-Licensure Nursing to meet student needs.
- Track student attendance, skills testing, and generate recurring reports on this data.
Program Management
- In collaboration with the Pre-Licensure Associate Dean and Program Directors, identifies, develops, and monitors CRSC practices to meet national and state accreditation guidelines.
- In collaboration with the Pre-Licensure Associate Dean and Program Directors, identifies, develops, and monitors CRSC objectives to meet student learning outcomes.
- Conducts and provides routine CRSC reports to the Dean of Nursing.
- Routinely meets with the Pre-Licensure Dean, Program Directors, the Director of Clinical Coordination, and Pre-Licensure Nursing, in evaluating CRSC student experiences.
- In consultation with the Dean and the Pre-Licensure Associate Dean, researches and leads the CRSC in identifying and submitting grants which support the CRSC and seeks donations.
- Encourages and assists CRSC adjuncts in obtaining Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification.
Adjunct Lab Hiring and Management
- Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, recommendation and hiring of CRSC adjunct faculty.
- Manages and participates in the annual evaluation of CRSC adjunct faculty.
- Oversee the mentoring program in collaboration with the Pre-Licensure Associate Dean and other Program Directors for the newly hired CRSC adjunct faculty.
- Promotes faculty development in teaching, research, leadership and other scholarly activities.
- Participate in annual review of job descriptions.
- Ensures a conducive teamwork environment, including resolving concerns within the faculty and staff.
Budget Oversight
- Collaborates and assists with the School of Nursing Director of Administration and Finance in identifying CRSC expenses and aligning expenses within budgetary compliance.
- Identifies and orders CRSC supplies and equipment, with Dean of Nursing approval.
Technology Planning and Management
- In collaboration with the Dean of Nursing and Pre-Licensure Associate Dean, identifies software needs and recommends technology support which enhances and supports CRSC needs.
- Evaluates nursing simulation and computer resources and services and prepares reports as requested.
- Maintains an inventory of nursing laboratories, simulators, software, and audiovisual equipment.
Meetings/Events
- Attend professional meetings related to simulation educators; participates on local and national committees relative to clinical simulation resources.
- Attends local, state and national meetings related to CRSC Regis SON and meets accreditation requirements and advances the mission and purpose of Regis College.
- Attend appropriate college and nursing school meetings.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other responsibilities as designated by the Dean of SON and Associate Dean of Pre-Licensure.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED
- A master's degree in nursing required, DNP, or pursuing DNP preferred. CHSE certification preferred.
- Knowledge in nursing simulation education and experience with simulation best practices for over three years.
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts.
- Competency with nursing skills and nursing education experience with students.
- Experience in effective and proven program leadership and management.
- Demonstrated positive and collegial interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated positive and effective ability working with students, faculty, staff and others.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
- Frequent interruptions to assist staff and faculty.
Compensation: $91,412 annually
