You will provide strategic leadership for clinical education and professional development across a healthcare organization. In this role, you will design, implement, and continuously improve educational programs that strengthen clinical documentation, coding accuracy, and healthcare delivery. Your work directly influences both clinical quality and financial outcomes.
Your Day-to-Day
Lead the development and maintenance of education and training programs — including onboarding — for physicians, CDI specialists, coders, and healthcare staff
Design and deliver curricula, workshops, and webinars on CDI best practices, coding compliance, medical necessity, and regulatory requirements
Manage training delivery across in-person, virtual, and blended formats using adult learning principles and innovative instructional design
Conduct quality reviews, performance assessments, and ongoing monitoring to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in documentation and coding
Collaborate with physicians, compliance, HIM/coding, and quality teams to align education initiatives with organizational goals and compliant documentation practices
Track key metrics such as query rates, DRG accuracy, and documentation scores, then implement targeted interventions to improve clinical and financial outcomes
Stay current on industry regulations including CMS, ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs, HCCs, and CPT/E&M guidelines
Chair educational committees and roundtables such as Physician Workflow and PA Roundtable
Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and leadership on educational needs and strategic priorities
Introduce innovative methods and digital platforms to strengthen educational delivery
Educate clients on documentation accuracy and its impact on coding and quality outcomes
Support expansion of consulting and educational services, including DRG Assurance and staffing initiatives
Participate in industry events and speaking engagements to promote organizational expertise
What We're Looking For
Education: Advanced clinical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
Home Office Requirements: Quiet, secure space for reviewing PHI; computer with high-speed internet; telephone and printer/fax/scanner
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional long hours and weekend work may be required
