POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of CECI is responsible for the development and coordination of the College's entrepreneurship incubator initiatives through the CECI. This is designed to help new clean energy businesses and startups overcome challenges through innovative programs that promote business development, learning, and cost savings. The Director advances and cultivates individuals interested in starting a business while also supporting existing businesses with resources and guidance.
Entrepreneurs benefit from mentorship, training, and motivation provided by these initiatives. A strong understanding of business incubators and their role in supporting entrepreneurs enables the Director to maximize their impact and effectiveness. The Director acts as a liaison between Richland Community College, area professionals, partner programs, mentors, and entrepreneurs. The Director will collaborate with all parties involved and be comfortable interacting with diverse, underrepresented, and marginalized populations. The successful Director is organized, self-motivated, and manages multiple tasks effectively while remaining attuned to the needs of those being served. The Director of Clean Energy Contractor Incubator (CECI) is responsible for effectively overseeing the hiring and supervision of CECI staff.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of entrepreneurship experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The Director must possess strong interpersonal, analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving abilities to identify and address challenges within the clean energy sector. These competencies are essential for fostering innovation, attracting investment, and ensuring the long-term success of the Clean Energy Career Incubator (CECI).
A solid background in project management is required, ideally with experience in for-profit businesses, startups, or related entities. The role also demands entrepreneurial thinking, business ideation, and venture creation experience.
