Job Description
Alabama State University, Student Affairs, Department of Career Services, invites applications for the position of Director of Career Services. The Director of Career Services provides strategic leadership and oversight for career development, workforce readiness, experiential learning, and post graduate success initiatives that support student and alumni. Reporting to the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the Director leads a student-centered operation aligned with the universitys Focus 2030 Strategic Plan and Alabama State Universitys commitment to student success, leadership development, and career readiness. The director also strengthens employer partnerships, expands internship cooperative education opportunities, and enhances career outcomes through collaboration and data-informed practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Career Services, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Workforce Development, or a related higher education setting, demonstrated experience in employer relations, career coaching, student development, program administration, and staff supervision, experience utilizing career management technologies, data analytics, and student success platforms preferred. Strong knowledge of labor market trends, workforce readiness strategies, and career development theory.
