The Role 

The Director, Capital Planning leads the financial planning, governance, and performance management of Forged Fiber’s capital portfolio with a primary focus on fiber construction. This role owns the capital planning process across annual budget, monthly forecast, and long-range plan, partnering closely with Engineering & Construction, Field Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and senior leadership. The Director serves as a key finance partner for fiber expansion and other investment areas by driving executive reporting, analysis, and disciplined capital governance.

Work Location: US, Hybrid / Remote

The Main Responsibilities

•                    Own monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-range capital and build plan forecasts, ensuring alignment between deployment plans, spend timing, and cash requirements

•                    Prepare executive-level reporting and recommendations on capital spend, outlook, risks, and investment trade-offs for finance leadership and operating partners.

•                    Lead monthly and weekly recurring meetings with the SLT requiring collaboration with key business partners throughout the organization

•                    Ownership and management of month-end financial reporting and variance analysis, partnering closely with the Accounting team to implement accruals and policies.

•                    Drive process improvement in planning tools, data quality, and reporting to improve visibility, accuracy, and decision making.

Main Requirements

•                    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

•                    10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, capital planning, corporate finance, or project finance

•                    Strong understanding of capital budgeting, financial modeling, forecasting, and investment analysis, with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational deployment drivers.

•                    Proven ability to lead cross-functional planning processes and influence investment decisions at the senior leadership and executive levels.

•                    Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems, planning tools, and business intelligence platforms preferred.

•                    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.

•                    High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

•                    Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of executives and constituencies 

•                    Telecom experience preferred

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
