Director of Campus Activities

The Office of Student Development at Milligan University invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Campus Activities with an anticipated start date in early July 2026. Reporting to the Dean of Students, this position oversees the management of the student activities calendar to include, daytime, evening and special events, budget and vendor oversight, and event planning consultation and content expertise. In addition, this position serves as the primary advisor for the campus activities board (CAB) & other groups.
The Director of Campus Activities is responsible for leading robust campus programs by providing and overseeing opportunities for students. The Director is knowledgeable about today's students, and facilitates meaningful avenues for involvement, engagement, and transformation that are demonstrated by vibrant campus programming. The Director not only serves as a point of information for students, but also partners with faculty to help students adjust, learn, and thrive in an educational environment. The Director works under the guidance of the Dean of Students and works closely with the rest of the student development team in shaping the University culture through the management and oversight of campus clubs and organizations.
Successful candidates should have a bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a student development-related field. Successful candidates should also demonstrate a strong Christian faith and commitment to Milligan's mission as a Christian liberal arts university. Primary duties and responsibilities include: the ability to work well with a diverse population of students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and be enthusiastic about working in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of higher education, student life, and ability to train staff in multicultural student development models. Excellent communication skills required (ability to clearly express ideas and concepts orally and in writing). Supervise student leaders or student volunteer positions. Provide oversight in the planning and execution of regular student activities on campus, thus creating an atmosphere and spirit of campus engagement. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Adhere to guidelines in the University Personnel & Safety Handbooks and departmental policies. Completes special projects as needed or assigned.
