Director Of Business Development

The Director of Business Development is responsible for the strategic growth and client stability of our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy client. You will lead the charge in identifying new business opportunities (Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care communities) while serving as the executive-level liaison for their current partners. Your goal is to expand our footprint while ensuring their existing "bond" with facilities remains unbreakable through exceptional relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion: Identify, prospect, and close new pharmacy service contracts with LTC facilities, CCRCs, and group home operators.
  • Relationship Management: Act as the primary executive contact for current facility administrators and owners; conduct regular "pulse check" meetings to ensure service satisfaction.
  • Strategic Networking: Represent the pharmacy at state healthcare associations (e.g., CALTCM, CAHF), regional conferences, and industry events.
  • Competitive Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends, competitor pricing, and regulatory changes in the California LTC landscape to position their pharmacy as the premier choice.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead the RFP (Request for Proposal) process and negotiate contract terms that align with the pharmacy's financial and operational goals.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the Pharmacy Operations and Consultant Pharmacist teams to ensure a seamless "onboarding" experience for new clients.
  • Retention Strategy: Develop and implement a formal client-retention program to proactively identify and resolve facility pain points before they become "at-risk" accounts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven sales or business development experience specifically within Long-Term Care, LTC Pharmacy, or Post-Acute Healthcare.
  • Network: A deep, existing Rolodex of LTC facility owners, administrators, and regional directors, preferably within Northern California.
  • Clinical Literacy: Ability to speak confidently about eMAR integration, med-pass efficiency, and LTC regulatory compliance (Title 22).
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, public speaking, and "high-touch" CRM management skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to visit facility sites and corporate offices. The travel part can be negotiated. Since we cover 3 areas in northern California (SF Bay area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa), I think maybe 1 week every month.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: [120K]
  • Benefits: [Health/Dental/401k/Car Allowance].
  • Incentive structure tied to new bed growth and retention milestones. Commission schedule will be shared with serious candidates after initial interview with Monroe Personnel.
