The School District of Whitefish Bay is looking for an exceptional candidate to serve students, staff, and community members as the District''s next Director of Buildings & Grounds.
REPORTS TO: Director of Business Services
SUPERVISES: The Director of Buildings & Grounds has responsibility for the supervision of all custodial and maintenance staff, as well as an administrative assistant.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Business Services.
CLASSIFICATION: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible, FLSA-exempt position under the Support Staff Employee Handbook. This is an at-will position.

JOB GOALS: To develop, plan, organize, and direct the maintenance, repair, and operations of District buildings and grounds. Additional job goals for this position include providing all students and staff with a safe, clean, and well-functioning learning and working environment, and providing leadership and support to the custodial and maintenance staff.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires significant cognitive effort to plan and carry out work-related duties. Strong organizational, leadership, and technological skills are necessary. Decisions and actions frequently must occur with minimal time for reflection. Situations faced often involve complex interpersonal communications. Solutions require integration of information and considerable judgment. How a decision is communicated is often as important as the actual message itself.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching. Generally, the job requires 25% sitting, 50% walking, and 25% standing. The employee may be required to be "on-call" for emergency situations, regarding all areas of supervision that may develop in the District.
