REPORTS TO: Jr/Sr High School Principal

SALARY: Based on Experience and SAA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous successful leadership experience in education
  • Previous successful coaching experience
  • Successful experience as an administrator is preferred

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience with high school and middle school athletic programs
  • Possess knowledge of athletic administration, including scheduling, budgeting, and event management.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with district policies, league requirements, and athletic regulations.
  • Knowledge of MHSAA policies and procedures
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee all interscholastic athletic contests and activities.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with students, staff, parents, coaches, officials, and community members.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Oversee athletic events, ensuring proper setup, operations, safety procedures, and facility cleanup.
  • Oversee recreation, enrichment, and facility usage programs related to athletics and community activities.
  • Coordinate athletic operations including transportation, officials, rosters, schedules, and event logistics.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaching staff in collaboration with building administration.
  • Develop and implement expectations, procedures, and regulations governing athletic programs, participants, and spectators.
  • Oversee athletic equipment, uniforms, inventory, purchasing, maintenance, and storage.
  • Manage athletic facilities and fields while ensuring safe and appropriate use of district resources.
  • Oversee financial operations including budgets, activity accounts, fundraising, grants, payments, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee recreation, enrichment, and facility usage programs related to athletics and community activities.
  • Promote athletic programs through marketing, communication platforms, social media, webpages, and promotional materials.
