SUMMARY

To coordinate and supervise all activities of the Natatorium to include college and community activities. This could include teaching classes in the Physical Education department and other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the operation, scheduling, and supervision of the Natatorium.

Responsible for budget developments, maintenance, and program evaluation.

Recruit, train, and evaluate student employees and verify current certifications (advance life, WSI, CPR, first aid) for employment.

Design and lead monthly in-service training as assigned.

Coordinate a variety of community recreational programs:

Including but not limited to:

  1. Learn to swim

  2. Swim and stay fit

  3. Fitness program

  4. Special events

  5. Noncredit instruction

Oversee membership and compilation of income and related statistics by maintaining monthly reports.

Physical Education Instructor

  • Teach other classes as assigned by the Chairman of the Physical Education department.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To stay knowledgeable and current in techniques and certifications on:

American Red Cross, instructor, trainer, CPR, and first aid

Pool operation standards and regulations

Wellness and fitness program and ideas

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred. Prior experience a plus. Must be familiar with pool operations and standards.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively interface with all components of the college community.
