Job Summary

The purpose of the Director of Annual Giving reports to the Director of Athletics and serves as a full-time fundraiser securing annual gifts ranging from $50 to $5,000 for the ULM Athletic Foundation (ULMAF). This position will attend athletic events, donor events and other department functions. Will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within the athletic department to create opportunities to strategically grow numbers of athletic foundation members through several mediums of communication.

  • Focus on initiatives designed to secure donor renewals, reengagement of lapsed donors, and donor retention

  • Work alongside Director of Development- Athletics/Athletic Operations, to facilitate and execute fundraising events through the year.

  • Manage input and analyze athletic donor data/CRM to better position athletic development for future success.

  • Work alongside athletic director, development office, marketing team, ticket office to develop and execute communication plan to alumni, fans, and other general supporters of ULM Athletics.

  • Develop and execute plans to push recurring athletic foundation members at larger events being hosted on campus and ULM Athletic Facilities.

  • Host and steward athletic supporters at specific ULM Athletic competitions.

  • Work with members of ULM Foundation to ensure coordinated and updated communication between athletics/athletic foundation/university foundation/supporters.

  • Proactively seek out opportunities/plans and implement donor recognition andstewardshipe?ortssuchasacknowledgementletters,givingsocieties and engagement activities in coordination with the ULM Advancement processes and guidelines.

  • Work with ULM Advancement and vendors to design and install donor recognition signage at athletic facilities.

  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, develop e?ective moves management strategies, and lead prospects through the quali?cation, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycle

  • Oversee logistics of donor travel and special events/dinners at away football games or other ULM Athletic events.

  • Work with Director of Athletics to set individual performance goals and priorities annually

  • Other duties as assigned by Deputy AD, Director of Development - Athletics, Athletic Director, Athletics Chief of Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications includes a bachelor's degree, preferred; collegiate experience preferred:
  • 2-4 years of experience, with a preference given to a background in fundraising or sales
  • A strong affinity toward and understanding of intercollegiate athletics, including an interest in enhancing the student-athlete experience through philanthropy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of communication and donor best practices;
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and details effectively;
  • Capable of crafting professional documentation;
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to think critically and exercise sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of constituencies;
  • Must maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA, Sun Belt, and ULM rules and regulations.
  • Must have good attention to detail and the ability to note errors and inconsistencies;
  • Ability to meet established deadlines;

Proficient knowledge of Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and AXS Ticketing System
