Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Admissions to lead and optimize our admissions and utilization review processes. In this pivotal role, you will drive facility growth, manage census metrics, and build strong relationships with hospitals, families, and managed care partners. Key Responsibilities
- Drive Census Goals: Proactively manage the inquiry and admission pipeline to maintain a minimum 95% occupancy rate.
- Streamline Admissions: Coordinate the entire pre-admission and admission lifecycle, including hospital transfers and comprehensive admission summaries.
- Insurance & Authorizations: Act as the primary liaison with Managed Care representatives to secure initial authorizations and concurrent reviews for continued stays.
- Data & Analytics: Develop and maintain advanced tracking and analysis systems to monitor patient acuity levels, referral trends, and payment sources.
- Utilization Review: Oversee internal Utilization Review processes to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred
- LTC Experience: 4–5 years of progressive experience working within a long-term care facility.
- Admissions Track Record: Minimum of 1 year of direct admissions coordination experience.
- Clinical Evaluation: Proven experience reviewing Patient Review Instruments (PRIs) for placement appropriateness.
- Managed Care Expertise: Solid understanding of Utilization Review protocols and Managed Care program development.
