The Director of Academic Advisement & Enrollment Services will help coordinate and support the College's front-line student service efforts to ensure optimal enrollment, retention, and completion outcomes. The Director is also responsible for the administration, management, assessment, and supervision of all activities related to the academic advisement area: schedule and transfer advisement, curriculum guides, registration activities, degree audit, and student retention/success initiatives. The Director will provide planning and technical expertise for services that support all of the College's enrollment operations and goals using Ellucian systems such as Colleague, Self Service, and CRM Advise. The Incumbent will also provide leadership and direction to the Recruitment Team in developing and implementing the College's Recruitment Plan including student tracking, follow-up, and regular reporting on progress toward stated goals and objectives.
The Director will serve as lead administrator over the CRM Advise early alert system. The Director helps manage data collection and student service systems to ensure improve enrollment and completion rates.

Academic Advisement:
Responsible for the administration and supervision of all activities related to advisement.
Develop and implement a department-level assessment plan, evaluating the effectiveness of advisement and the department's overall contributions to student success. Modifications to programs/services will be implemented as needed with the approval of the Provost.
Recruit and develop qualified, capable, and service-oriented staff. Promote professional and ethical standards. Recognize and implement staff motivations to improve the climate of the department and services provided to students/stakeholders. Help each staff member to achieve his/her maximum potential.
Maintain department budget accounts based on departmental assessments and goals as well as the strategic plan of the college. Fiscal responsibility must be evident in all practices..
Maintain a regular student advisement caseload.
Understand and implement all confidential information security policies: FERPA, GLBA, HIPA, Red Flag, etc.
Leverage the use of technology in the department including Student BlahBlah, CRM, Colleague, etc.
Maintain student files and records; document all pertinent student information, update student information system (Colleague).
Essential Job Function
Enrollment Management:
Assist the Provost in assessing and improving data systems that contribute to optimal student enrollment and success.
Assist in the coordination of the application/admission process for new students and the registration process for new, continuing, returning, and transfer students. Admissions and enrollment services will include International and Dual Credit students.
Develop systems and services to automate and streamline student applications, registrations, and degree progress.
Create and manage student orientations, both on-campus and online, to ensure student satisfaction, seamless transitions, retention, and student success. Coordinate orientation strategies with Success in College Coordinators/curriculum.
Assist in training, supervising, and evaluating front-line recruitment/enrollment personnel. Develop and encourage staff training as needed.
Work with the Director of Admissions & Records and Deans to offer and ensure user-friendly and accurate degree audit systems. This requires maintenance in Colleague, Self Service, Ellucian Experience (myDACC), College website, and student communications.
Manage Student Planning tool in Self Service. Provide training to Advisors and students, work with Director of Director of Advisement & Counseling to ensure staff adoption, outreach communications to students, and student usage.
Recommend and participate in the development of policy as necessary to properly implement effective enrollment services and student support programs.
Serve as an Academic Advisor as needed and be able to register students for appropriate classes/sections based on their educational goal, major and transfer plans. Educate students on academic regulations, degree requirements, and facilities of the college.

CRM Advise Management:
Manage, maintain, and coordinate the CRM Advise system which includes working closely with sister systems such as Degree Audit, Self Service/Student Planning, and Ellucian Experience/myDACC.
Create and execute a long-term plan for the growth and improvement of CRM Advise in support of the College's retention initiatives and goals.
Lead the CRM Advise Core Leadership Team, monitoring and developing engagement and retention strategies (assessment and ensuring appropriate resources are available). Collaborate with IT to support integration and imports with third party applications.
Monitor staff adoption and usage of the system, provide training and end user documentation, establish accountability standards, and celebrating successes.

Essential Job Function
Recruitment/Student Engagement Functions:
Provide leadership and direction to the Recruitment Team in developing and implementing the College's Recruitment Plan including student racking, follow-up and regular reporting on progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Partner with the Director of Marketing, Video Development, Social Media, the Branding Team, the Student Services Communications Coordinator to establish cohesive recruitment and student engagement plans and materials.
Register students as needed on campus or at events off campus.
Assist international students immigrating to the United States from another country on the Colleges Admission policies and immigration regulation. Incumbent will serve as a Designated School Official.
Partner with academic departments to improve the visibility of their programs of study.
Assist Recruiters and other departments with high school recruitment plans (on and off campus) and strategies to recruit from within our dual credit programs. Additional assistance is also needed to recruit various markets that attend events on campus. Examples of events include the High School Counselor Annual Meeting, Vermilion County High School Basketball Tournament, eSports tournaments, and other events as planned.
Assist other departments with retention activities on campus as needed. Examples of retention efforts include Welcome Back Week, College Day, Spirit Week, and timely topic presentations.
General Position Functions:
Collect and analyze data/strategies in place for department-level assessments, grants, and student success initiatives.
Assist in supervising and maintaining all student records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Gramm Leach Bliley Act, HIPA, and Red Flag requirements.
Attend professional meetings, in-services, seminars, and trainings as pertain to areas of major responsibility and College priorities.
Assist the Director of Admissions & Records in evaluating incoming academic transcripts from other post-secondary institutions, the various branches of the military, and other academic credits (CLEP, AP) to determine credits to be transferred to DACC programs of study.
Assist in the review and development of policies, practices, and procedures for equity, access, and student success.
Assist in the review and development of policies, practices, and procedures for student retention and success.
Initiate and maintain effective working relationships with on-campus departments and personnel to coordinate Student Services' activities.
Assume other duties as assigned by the Provost.
