The 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at our Downtown Baker campus delivers highly specialized care and advanced hemodynamic monitoring for patients in the immediate postoperative period following cardiothoracic surgery.
Our team currently cares for more than 600 cardiothoracic surgery patients annually, with the organization on track to exceed 900 cardiothoracic surgeries this year. In addition, the CVICU manages a diverse population of complex, critically ill cardiac patients, including those with advanced heart failure requiring mechanical circulatory support (MCS), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and Impella devices.
The leader also provides oversight of the Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU), supporting care for neurologically complex patients within our Comprehensive Joint Commission-certified Stroke Center.
