Major/Essential Functions

  • Oversees and facilitates NTME twice per month for new hires in a consistent, engaging, and informational fashion. Ensures orientation reflects all TTUHSC employment environments, including campuses, locations, and correctional facilities.
  • Collaborates with the Division of Human Resources, the Office of People & Values, and other university-wide stakeholders to ensure streamlined onboarding and integration for new team members.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director for University Strategy & Experience, the Assistant Vice President for People & Values, and the Division of Human Resources to ensure consistency between orientation messaging, institutional/departmental practices, and day-to-day realities.
  • Establishes internal performance standards on program outcomes, collects and analyzes data on NTME effectiveness and participation, and develops responsive interventions to facilitate program improvement.
  • Oversees administrative matters required to host new team members from all TTUHSC locations at a central, in-person NTME experience.
  • Collaborates with the Office of External Relations to ensure NTME experiences and deliverables reflect university brand standards.
  • Develops and implements a standardized communications strategy for new team members, outlining relevant information prior to and following NTME participation.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of the New Team Member Experience budget and resource planning efforts.
  • Evaluates New Team Member Experience against best practices and peer institutions to implement enhancements that grow program effectiveness, engagement, and impact.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of new team member orientation and onboarding best practices.
  • Experience with team member experience design, and principles of adult learning.
  • Experience in designing and delivering engaging in-person presentations and programming to mixed audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to influence across all levels of an organization.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
