Rogue Community College (RCC) is looking for a dynamic communications leader to help shape how our communities experience and understand RCC. As Director of Marketing & Communications/PIO, you will lead the strategies, storytelling, and public engagement efforts that showcase the transformative impact of community colleges.
This role guides integrated marketing, communications, branding, media relations, and digital engagement efforts across the institution. The Director works closely with college leadership, faculty, staff, and community partners to build trust, strengthen RCC's visibility and reputation, and connect students and communities to opportunity.
Reporting to the Vice President of People, Culture, & Safety/CHRO and Chief of Staff, the Director also serves as RCC's Public Information Officer, leading public communications and crisis response efforts with clarity, transparency, and responsiveness. The successful candidate will be a thoughtful strategist, compelling storyteller, and collaborative leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic marketing, communications, and branding efforts that advance RCC's mission, strengthen its reputation, and support student recruitment, retention, and community engagement
Oversee marketing, advertising, digital and social media, internal communications, creative services, and media relations across multiple campuses
Serve as the College's Public Information Officer (PIO), directing media relations and public communications
Develop and implement integrated, data-informed marketing and communications plans aligned with RCC's strategic priorities
Ensure consistent, inclusive, and accessible messaging that reflects RCC's commitment to diversity, equity, and student success
Supervise, mentor, and support staff, contractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Partner with Institutional Research and college leadership to assess effectiveness and use data to improve outreach and engagement outcomes
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to promote programs, initiatives, and opportunities across RCC's service area.

Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute for the requirement(s). Additional Posting Information
This is a full-time Exempt/Managerial (100%, 246 days/year) position in the People, Culture & Safety department. Starting compensation will be based on Grade M of the 2025-26 salary schedule, in accordance with initial placement per the current Management, Administrative, and Confidential Employee Handbook. Consideration will be given to related experience and educational achievement but generally not expected to exceed the midpoint of the range.
The position will remain open until filled, with screening scheduled to begin on June 29, 2026. Applications received after the screening date are not guaranteed review. Rogue Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
