The Director of In-Store Pricing is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing Maverik’s pricing strategy through data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration. We are seeking a leader with strong analytical capabilities, a systems-oriented mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business direction. This role partners closely with teams across the organization to drive performance, support growth, and ensure pricing decisions align with broader company objectives.
Success in this role requires both strategic thinking and a hands-on understanding of the data and tools that power decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to direct reports, including but not limited to, hiring, training and development.
- Direct execution of a comprehensive in-store sales strategy aligned with Maverik’s long-term business and financial objectives.
- Direct and oversee teams tasked with the achievement of multi-year in-store sales and margin targets, presenting performance reports to executive leadership and the board.
- Partner with senior leadership across Marketing, Real Estate, Supply Chain, and Finance to align pricing strategies with corporate growth and operational goals.
- Coordinate with inter-departmental teams to implement advanced pricing technologies and predictive analytics to enhance competitive positioning and profitability.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, driving a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee talent development, succession planning, and performance management for the In-Store Pricing teams.
- Coordinate with Director of Fuel Pricing to optimize total financial outcomes for the total enterprise.
- Direct and enhance market analysis and entry strategies for new regions, ensuring pricing models support profitable growth.
- Serve as the primary liaison with key external partners (e.g., merchandise suppliers, technology vendors) to negotiate strategic agreements.
- Oversee the development of risk mitigation strategies to address volatility in wholesale markets, regulatory changes, and competitive pressures.
Role Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, training, or special projects.
- This role is cell phone eligible and supports an 24/7 operation. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required to respond to urgent issues or service calls.
Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field strongly preferred
- MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, or supply chain management) are a plus.
Qualifications: Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in category management, marketing, pricing, or retail strategy
- 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pricing strategies in a competitive market
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving measurable financial outcomes at an enterprise level
- Strategic vision to translate complex data into actionable, enterprise-wide strategies.
- Strong executive communication skills, with experience presenting to C-suite leaders and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change and align diverse teams around a shared vision.
- Deep understanding of fuel retail industry trends, competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic factors.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $140,000-$180,000/year + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
