Job Summary

This position is located within the District Business & Advisory Services Department and reports to the Chief of District Business & Advisory Services. The Director III manages software functionality and leads the Financial Systems Support Team, providing oversight of technical training and support for school districts, Regional Occupational Programs (ROPs), and ACOE staff who use the Alameda County Office of Education's Frontline ERP for California (Escape) financial system. This role also supervises the Data Processing Unit, which manages countywide warrant processing on Frontline ERP for California and annual tax submissions for all agencies on the software.

THE POSITION: The job of Director III - Financial Systems Support is done for the purpose/s of directing all aspects of the ACOE Financial Systems Support Department and executing data management and information system development and preparing of a variety of documents, reports, and databases data; providing technical information and serving as a resource to school district and ACOE leaders; and achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines. This job reports to the Assigned Administrator. This role ensures that financial system services align with the organization's mission while overseeing critical infrastructure, security, and innovation in technology-driven education and business operations. The position serves as a key liaison between educational institutions, governmental agencies, and technology partners to enhance financial reporting, state and federal compliance and operational efficiencies. TYPICAL DUTIES: Provides technical leadership and assistance to department technicians and analysts, District leadership, CTOs to ensure the timely and efficient maintenance and repair of all items related to the financial system, warrant processing, data processing for IRS, EDD, and Social Security. Consults with superintendents, managers, site users, and other individuals from both the public and private sector, in designing and implementing updates to financial software to ensure current regulations and compliance. Assists a variety of internal and external agency personnel (e.g. internal business services, district business services, district advisory services, information technology, school districts, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and general support. Consults with superintendents, managers, site users, and other individuals from both the public and private sector, in designing and implementing updates to financial software to ensure current regulations and compliance. Experience: Seven (7) years of related financial or business job-related experience, with increasing levels of responsibility. Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred. Experience with information systems in a large-scale information technology environment including network and computing devices, maintenance, and troubleshooting preferred. Equivalency: A combination of education and job-related experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
