Job purpose The HR Director serves as the senior HR business partner to assigned senior business leaders (for example: Warehouse Directors), translating business priorities into people strategy and execution. This role is responsible for advising leaders on organizational design, change, talent, engagement, and leadership effectiveness while ensuring alignment to RJW's broader business and HR strategy. Working closely with HRBPs and peer HR leaders, the HR Director helps shape culture, lead transformation, and drive enterprise HR initiatives that strengthen organizational performance and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned senior leadership clients on HR strategy, organization effectiveness, and people-related priorities within their functions.
  • Define the people strategy for assigned senior leadership clients, ensuring alignment to business goals and the broader HR strategy.
  • Advise, coach, and support leaders to maximize performance, lead change effectively, and engage and develop talent within their organizations.
  • Partner with peer HR Directors and HRBPs to help shape RJW's culture and values from a strategic enterprise perspective.
  • Work closely with HRBPs to execute HR initiatives and ensure strategy is translated into practical field and functional action.
  • Lead organizational change and transformation initiatives, helping ensure smooth implementation and minimal business disruption.
  • Drive large-scale HR initiatives that support business objectives, improve employee engagement, and strengthen organizational capability.
  • Provide strategic guidance on organizational design, team effectiveness, leadership capability, and workforce planning as needed to support assigned functions.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior line leaders on talent, engagement, change, and organizational health issues.

  • Assigned senior leaders view this role as a credible strategic advisor on people, performance, and organizational issues.
  • People strategies are clearly aligned to business direction and translated into actionable priorities.
  • HRBPs are well aligned to strategic objectives and execute talent initiatives with consistency and clarity.
  • Organizational change efforts are managed with discipline and support business continuity during transition.
  • Large-scale HR initiatives strengthen employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and organizational performance.
  • Culture and values are reinforced through visible partnership, leadership coaching, and enterprise collaboration.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ or more years of experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • 2 or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders on HR strategy, organizational design, and change leadership.
  • Strong capability in leadership coaching, talent strategy, and employee engagement.
  • Experience leading large-scale HR initiatives in support of business goals.
  • Ability to work across leaders, HRBPs, and HR peers to align strategy and execution.
  • Strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior levels of the organization.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-site or operationally intensive environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise or function-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in distribution, logistics, or other industrial settings.

Travel or schedule requirements

  • Based at various RJW locations in the United States.
  • Occasional travel across the RJW domestic portfolio

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
