The Director is the academic and administrative leader of the campus and is responsible for the operation of the Hopkinsville Regional Campus and Fort Campbell Regional Campus. This includes supervision of staff; program development; student recruitment, enrollment and advising; facility scheduling and management; and community relations.

  • Serve as the on-site academic and administrative leader of the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell Regional Campuses; provide leadership, strategy, vision, and organization for the campuses.
  • Direct day-to-day management and operation of the campuses, including management of all staff members.
  • Take an active role in recruitment activities at the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell Regional Campuses and work with the Center for Adult and Regional Education leadership to develop marketing plans and strategies in order to enhance public awareness of the campuses and to increase student enrollment.
  • Direct and develop recruitment activities for the campuses in order to meet various enrollment goals.
  • Coordinate various events hosted at the Hopkinsville Regional Campus, Fort Campbell Regional Campus and/or community college partner campuses.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments in the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell areas to identify new program initiatives.
  • Work with community, business, educational, and political leaders to gain support for Murray State University.
  • Actively participate in various community groups, including, but not limited to, the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, and the local community college partners in the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell areas.
  • Work with University leadership to develop external support for the campuses in the community; communicate effectively and foster collaborative relationships among all campus constituencies.
  • Assist prospective students with admissions activities and curriculum planning; provide guidance to students regarding services, programs, policies, procedures, and other university related issues.
  • Oversee advising activities; serve as an academic advisor for students enrolled in the Integrated Studies program and provide quality advising and academic services.
  • Assist the Executive Director with special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Master's degree required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in managing and supervising personnel.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing and/or community relations.
  • Excellent communication and oral presentation skills.
  • Must be competent in Microsoft Office programs, and other educational technologies.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work extended hours or weekends as required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to build community connections.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • A degree in marketing, public relations, or mass communications is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a university setting is preferred.
  • Experience in developing marketing plans preferred.
