About The Role
The Director of Global Procurement is responsible for leading and optimizing the procurement strategies across our global operations. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in the procurement processes.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global procurement strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead and manage a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management to ensure the best quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Optimize inventory management and demand planning processes to improve service levels while minimizing inventory costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and R&D, to drive procurement efficiencies and support product development and innovation initiatives.
- Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets.
- Implement and maintain procurement risk management strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
- Drive sustainability initiatives within procurement to support the company's environmental and social responsibility goals.
- Utilize data analytics and supply chain technologies to enhance visibility, decision-making, and overall supply chain performance.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain and/or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing global procurement operations and driving significant improvements in efficiency and cost management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with supply chain management software and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and trends, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- Be within commutable distance of our Louisville, KY office
- Be able to travel 50% of the time (both domestic & international)
