Job Title Director for Employer Relations & Assessment Department LEADERSHIP AND LEARNING Position Number FP221A Location Norfolk, VA Job Summary

The Director for Employer Relationships and Assessment develops a recruiting plan and actively recruits new employers to ODU. This individual manages relationships with existing employers and identifies and seeks out new employer relationships for the purpose of hiring ODU students and alumni for experiential and professional opportunities. The Director has direct oversight and responsibility for the planning, marketing, logistics, and coordination of on-campus recruitment activities including informational sessions, interviewing, career/job fairs, and other networking and special events. This individual also directs the design, facilitation, and evaluation of student/employer career experiences, including student and alumni engagement, student/professional mentor programs, and off-campus career trek and job shadow experiences for students. The Director also oversees department-wide assessment and database management efforts, including monthly and annual reporting, development of data dashboards, and management of office databases (i.e., Handshake, Protopia). The Director guides the planning and implementation of the annual ODU Career Summit which brings together employers with faculty and staff. Additionally, this individual directs the revenue-generating Employer Partner Program, facilitates ODU Employer Academy sessions, and leads the ODU Employer Advisory Board.The Director supervises three assistant directors who supervises other team members, manages relevant data collection and reporting, and oversees employer engagement within ODU's Handshake platform.

Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum Qualifications

Excellent knowledge of employer relations, job placement and internship management, job search and career advising, program management, writing and presentation skills, supervision, and teamwork.

Demonstrated ability to effectively and fairly supervise subordinates; to delegate tasks and meet deadlines and to provide outstanding customer service.

Some experience working with data visualization and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar), analyzing and translating complex data into actionable insights for decision-making, and managing or working with large datasets and departmental databases.

Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Higher Education, Public Administration, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field, or related degree or a bachelor's degree and related experience equivalent to a master's degree in areas of study previously indicated, may be substituted.

Considerable years of experience with corporate relations and job development; office management, supervision of staff, customer service, career counseling with college or adult clients.
