Job Summary:

Responsible for management of the daily operation of the football office and serves as a main point of contact for program operations. Represents the football program at external, campus and wider community events with the Head Football Coach. Serves as the department''s administrative liaison and works closely with athletic administration, on-campus partners, external constituents and the Southern to ensure overall success of the football program.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

Oversees and supervises the day-to-day administrative operations of the football program, including scheduling, direct supervision over major components such as budget, compliance, roster management, and alumni relations.

Coordinates football team activities, such as operations, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, equipment, video operations, enrollment services, compliance, communications, and academic support.

Coordinates daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual plans along with Head Football Coach that best maximizes student-athlete schedules and times based on NCAA regulations and academic needs.

Coordinates gameday activities with partners from across the athletic department including but not limited to Furman Game Day Operations, facilities, marketing, and ticketing.

Director of the Furman Players Association, responsible for coordinating alumni events throughout the year, including Vince Perone Bobby Johnson Classic.

Organize and promote Clay Hendrix Football Camps during Summer.

Oversees the coordination of recruiting visits and collaborate with department efforts as needed.

Confers with the athletics administration, Head Football Coach, and/or Compliance, regarding any actual or potential violation of NCAA rules, and recommends procedures to preclude such violations.

Manages and supervises all assigned administrative football support staff, including assistant director of football operations, volunteer coaches, administrative assistant, and all student mangers.

Works with the Head Football Coach to develop travel plans for all away games as well as logistical operations for home contests.

Collaborates with Head Football Coach and Furman Business Office to develop and review annual budget

Collaborates with various internal department groups that assist with the football program to keep all parties up to date, which includes housing, dining, admissions, and other internal departments.

In conjunction with Head Football Coach, athletics administration and HR manages all personnel actions, including hiring and terminating of staff. (Workday)

Represents Head Football Coach at various meetings and department functions when necessary; including all duties and responsibilities, which may arise from time-to-time such as University and Southern Conference committee assignments.

  • Collaborate with Head Football Coach and athletics administration on long term vision and execution plan for Furman football.

Run and coordinate Furman Football Social media platform along with SID.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, preferably business management or a related field

Required Experience

Three (3) years of collegiate athletic department experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Experience in managing a division 1 football budget with various levels and the ability to use existing resources efficiently to align with departmental budgetary goals

Prior collegiate coaching, and or playing experience a plus
