Job Summary
This position will be assigned to the Maintenance and Operations department under the Business Services division: Under administrative direction, the job of Director of Fiscal Services, Facilities, and Operations is done for the purpose of providing internal support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for directing, planning, and overseeing the fiscal, facilities, maintenance, operations, and construction functions of the Santa Cruz County Office of Education (COE). This position is responsible for budget development and oversight; financial reporting and compliance; facilities planning, construction and renovation projects; maintenance, custodial support and operations of COE buildings and grounds; and supervision of assigned staff. This position coordinates assigned activities with other departments, outside agencies, and the public, and serves as a member of the leadership team supporting the assigned administrator. This job reports to the Deputy Superintendent, Business Services. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Please read the complete job description. Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, construction management, facilities management, or a related field. Experience: Five (5) years of significant progressively responsible experience in public-sector fiscal management and facilities/operations, including a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license and appropriate vehicle operation insurance.
To be initially considered, an applicant must submit the following: 1. Completed online application 2. A résumé providing educational preparation, including specific degrees; professional experience; and professional references 3. Three recent letters of recommendations Selection Process: All applicants are required to submit an on-line employment application with attached resume and three recommendation letters. In order to identify the most qualified applicants, a paper screening committee will screen all applications. Qualified applicants will be invited to oral board interviews. Finalist candidates will be certified for a final selection interview. If selected, fingerprinting is required. You will need to supply our office with a negative tuberculosis test clearance. The certificate is good for a four-year period. You can have the test done through the Santa Cruz Health Department, Doctors on Duty Clinic or by calling a physician or a clinic of your choice.

Compensation and Benefits: Eligible candidates may receive 3.0% Master's Degree stipend; 2.0% Doctorate stipend. Allowances for car and telephone may be provided. This is a 221-day work year position. Benefits include full family medical, dental and vision coverage, 12 days of annual paid sick leave, life insurance, long-term disability and allowance for Professional Dues. Retirement benefits are accrued through the Public Employee Retirement System (CalPERS). Employees are required to pay their portion of the retirement plan.
