Job Summary and Qualifications
Work with the Market Director of Imaging Services to plan budget, workflow and staffing for all departments. Provides department coverage in the absence of the Market Director and provides assistance to all Coordinators and lead technologists to maintain compliance with staff competencies and quality requirements. Assist with implementing and updating department specific policies, procedures and standards with adherence to facility, state, federal and Joint Commission criteria. Oversees the ACR accreditations and monitors compliance of the ACR requirements. Provide leadership in development, optimization, and application of system protocols. Communicates on a daily basis all staff and patient related issues or problems that occur. Provide direction/action to ensure excellence in image quality and patient care employing technique that is both appropriate to patient age and clinical condition.
The Director of Radiology Service Lines is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing day to day operations.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and leadership in planning, directing and provision of care to patients in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures.
Maintain clinical knowledge of areas within the department.
Oversees employee schedules and manages vacation requests.
Assist with identifying cost-effective systems needed to support the service line, considering business trends, resource availability and changes in practice.
Evaluates opportunities to implement new technology/services to differentiate and drive service line volumes.
Establish effective working relationships with physicians, employees and referring facilities.
Handles concerns or complaints from physicians, visitors and patients.
Works with senior leadership, department directors, unit managers and program coordinators across the facility to streamline processes, develop best evidence-based clinical protocols and facilitate patient care.
Process Lawson invoices and check request daily.
Works collaboratively with each department to maintain supply/inventory control.
Complete random audits on a monthly basis and identifies problems and corrective action.
Assist with Quality Control to identify areas of improvement and implement steps to enhance quality throughout the Department.
Assist with the development, optimization and implementation of protocols to enhance image quality.
Undertakes the role of liaison to associate departments to educate, communicate, and promote safety standards, enhance patient flow and minimize potential risks to personnel and equipment.
Assists the Market Director of Imaging Services with staff recruitment, selection, and staff recognition.
Coordinate the hiring and performance management of professional staff to include, coordinators, leads, technologists and support staff.
Develop staff scheduling programs to maximize staff and imaging equipment utilization and minimize overtime.
Ensures proper system maintenance, operation and care.
Fosters staff development, teamwork, and effective communication.
Ensures staff competency, ethical performance and adherence to department’s/facility’s Mission
Statement, as well as state, federal, and Joint Commission Guidelines.
Maintains compliance with ACR requirements and apply for renewals 3 months prior to expiration.
Assess and evaluate employee work performance; implement learning plans and complete staff yearly evaluations.
Counsel staff; implement disciplinary process when indicated, including termination. Ensures new employees receive appropriate orientation. Facilitates ongoing education and training.
Performs tasks of Staff Technologist as required.
Education & Experience:
3-7 Years Related Experience – Required
2 Year Associate Degree – Required
