The Continuing Education Program Director - CIT Programs provides leadership for the Construction & Industrial Technologies Continuing Education and technical trades programs and is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and supervising all instructional and related program management activities.

What Youll Do
Program Management:
Plans, executes, and evaluates annual program goals, outcomes, and related activities based on the needs of the program, division, and college.
Ensures that the program and curriculum offerings are in full compliance with the requirements for accreditation, certification, and other standards stipulated by appropriate external agencies.
Ensures compliance with and execution of program admission, registration, grading and evaluation, and student conduct.
Prepares and submits complete, correct, and timely reports, as required.
Maintains effective communications within the department and with other related departments through regular meetings, written communications, utilization of committees, and/or other group management strategies.
Maintains productive relationships with businesses, industries, and other organizations in the community which are pertinent to the program and prospective employees and with which the college may hold contracts, other agreements, or arrangements.
Ensures contracts and agreements pertinent to the program are current and provisions are met. Participates in an effective advisory committee system in support of the program.
Instructional Management and Supervision:
Develops, reviews, revises, and distributes all programs of study, course syllabi and outlines, and other program information, including copies required for publication.
Develops, reviews, revises, and evaluates programs of study curriculum and instruction, facilitating innovation in curriculum and instructional development.
Facilitates ongoing program assessment and review; focuses on the design and improvement of educational experiences to enhance student learning and program excellence.
Prepares and processes semester offerings and class schedules which meet the requirements of the program and the needs of the students, ensuring that the instructional resources of the program are being utilized efficiently and effectively and that the program mission is being met.
Supervises and evaluates the operation of all classes being conducted within the assigned function of the program, including visitations for day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes, and other instructional activities.
Ensures that accountable instruction is always provided within the program: faculty are on time and prepared for class, all classes are properly covered, instruction is conducted as scheduled, and course and program requirements are being met.
Personnel Management:
Assigns, supervises, and evaluates all continuing education program instructors.
Facilitates continuing education program instructor searches; recommends the appointment of continuing education program instructors.
Provides orientation for and mentoring of new continuing education program instructors.
Supervises, processes, and maintains records for all continuing education program instructors.
Financial Management:
Identifies resource needs of the program, including but not limited to, personnel, equipment, supplies, and facilities; maintains an inventory of equipment and supplies; assists in physical security of resources.
Prepares budget requests; administers the program budget effectively and efficiently, regularly monitoring status of expenditures.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced properly.
Other Duties:
Participates in student recruitment, advising, and registration.
Represents the program, division, and college in institutional assignments, community affairs, and professional activities; upholds such involvement among continuing education program faculty. Participates in program, divisional, and institutional meetings, committees, and other announced activities.
Fulfills committee assignments and other special appointments within the college and community, and otherwise, gives appropriate support to college endeavors. Attends in-service training and other professional development opportunities, including attendance at off-campus activities, as feasible, to stay current with developments in the field of continuing education and strengthen leadership and management skills.
Keeps all sensitive information protected and strictly confidential; maintains confidentiality in accordance with college, FERPA, and HIPAA requirements.

Normal Working Hours:
A minimum of a 40-hour work week is required as determined by the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the essential job functions, which may include occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelors degree in Communication, Business Administration, Education, Construction Management or related field
At least three (3) years of business, education teaching, or administration experience
Must possess an understanding of business perspectives and community needs, as they relate to the trade and construction areas.
OR any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a combination of office, classroom, laboratory, and field-based training environments within a community college setting. Instructional and program oversight responsibilities may extend to construction labs, industrial training spaces, and off-site locations in partnership with local employers, contractors, and workforce agencies. The position involves frequent interaction with students, instructors, contractors, business and industry partners, vendors, and college personnel. Work environments may include moderate to high noise levels, exposure to shop equipment, and active construction or industrial training settings. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, industry regulations, and institutional policies. The position also handles sensitive student and personnel information and must maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA

Normal Working Hours: Standard schedule, Monday - Friday; flexibility as needed based on needs of division programming
