Yearly Salary- $150,000-160,000 per year with performance bonus, competitive benefits and 401(k) match program.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 8+ years of compensation and benefits leadership experience
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in a corporate/transport environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences
  • Strong experience in the program management of contract mobilizations and acquisition integration.
  • Experience developing and executing fully comprehensive compensation and benefits programs
  • Has acted as a central point of contact for Compensation and Benefits possesses
  • Knowledge and experience of contemporary and best practice compensation and benefits processes, programs and tools
  • Proven success in team development through high quality managerial leadership including both change management, continual improvement and operational effectiveness
  • Experience in recruitment and talent assessments

Key Accountabilities

Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Harmonize the disparate compensation and benefits frameworks across the region to establish a single common approach that is fair and equitable and enables both the competitive advantage of the business and the employees feeling of fair treatment.
  • Supports the design, development and implementation of new compensation and benefits programs, 
  • Ensure the ongoing digitalization and automation of workflow to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversees analytical studies in a variety of compensation areas, such as market data and internal equity, competitive pay practices, modeling of union and management proposals and emerging trends
  • Leads and assures the annual salary adjustment and STIP processes across the region applying group and regional principles
  • Maintains and proactively communicates the annual calendar for key compensation and benefits dates including, salary review, open enrollments
  • Ensures that all compensation and benefits communication programs are proactive, well communicated and easy to understand for all employees.
  • Partner with other HR team members to develop, execute and communicate key programs to managers, supervisors, and employees;
  • Provides advice and counsel to HR and managers regarding market trends, internal equity questions and concerns and hiring and promotion rates

Benefits Administration 

  • Oversees the administration of benefits programs including insurance, retirement, flexible spending accounts, and other employee benefits to ensure competitiveness and legal compliance
  • Maintains key benefits data such as FMLA to ensure mangers have accurate information to aid decision making and employee support
  • Coordinate Benefits sourcing / yearly negotiation
  • Coordinate open enrollments across the region
  • Prepare information resources to support employee information process through Managers / HRBP
  • Oversee the administration of the company’s leave of absence program, including all federal and state acts
  • Ensures leave requests follow company leave policies and are in compliance under federal and state guidelines; the company bargaining agreements; and with all relevant US and Canadian legislation

Team management and third-party relationships

  • Build a strategic, best in class benefits function that enables the business to drive results
  • Leads the Compensation and Benefits team and ensures that the services delivered, and the administration of both programs continually meet customer expectations and human resources standards
  • Lead continual improvement of the capability of the team through strong development to industry best standard
  • Use compensation and benefits team as well as own expertise to solve organizational challenges
  • Ensure the strong managing outsourced benefits contracts 
  • Develop business cases to consolidate vendors and supplier and review of inhouse/ outsourced services
  • Identify new partnerships to better position Keolis both from a cost management and employee experience

Start up and mobilization

  • Develop and assure compensation and benefits administration for new contract mobilizations
  • Assure the compensation and benefits team delivery of the startup 
  • Input to bid development costing and strategy to ensure the necessary factors are taken into account for the proposals

  • Long periods (potentially exceeding 8 hours per day) of walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials, repetitive hand-wrist motions, and traversing uneven surfaces;
  • Exposure to both extreme heat and cold;
  • Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and airborne particles;

In addition to the above demands inherent in every role, the following roles may entail unique physical demands, including:

  • Operators/Drivers may work inside or outside vehicles and may operate vehicles for over 8 hours per day.
  • Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle.
  • Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers, laptops, electronic hand-held devices, complex electrical schematics, diagnostic software and testing devices, and other heavy machinery.
  • Office Staff may work indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities, including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.
