Overview:
Responsible for the overall direction of the Department of Oncology. The Director will be ultimately responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of the budgets for all designated work units. The director will implement and evaluate services, direct performance improvement initiatives for quality, foster and maintain positive relationships with providers, ensure regulatory compliance, manage staffing efficiency and perform project work as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: Business, allied health, health care management, or related field
Preferred Education:
Master's degree in healthcare administration or business
Necessary Skills:
1. Good understanding of legal and regulatory issues of patient care
2. Knowledge of oncology practice and industry equipment
3. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial measures in the treatment and care of oncology patients
4. Ability to manage departmental operations and supervise staff
5. Excellent communications skills required, both verbal and written
6. Basic knowledge of hospital and external billing
7. Ability to organize and motivate others
8. Must function independently and demonstrate maturity and discretion
9. Sound decision making/critical thinking skills
10. Budgeting (operational and capital)

Required Experience:
5-10 years of administration experience
Preferred Experience:
Five or more years of management experience; previous experience in oncology/infusion therapy
