The SD Government (SDG) Director, Business Development, Military Systems Integrators

The SD Government (SDG) Director, Business Development, Military Systems Integrators, is responsible for finding and winning new business in the United States, specifically in the domain of satellite communications (SATCOM) capabilities. The primary target market is large US OEMs, specifically those involved in the manufacture, systems integration, and upgrade of military and government aircraft.

You will work closely with the SVP, SD Government Sales to achieve your annual targets and objectives. This is a primarily tactical business development role and so the focus is on generating near-to-medium term opportunities, working in partnership with the various Sales Directors.

### How will you make a difference?

  • Responsible for developing a go-to-market plan in the United States, specifically to address the sale of SATCOM equipment and airtime into large US defense primes, involved with Mil/Gov aircraft.
  • Build and develop a pipeline, to support the closing of near to medium term new business, in accordance with the company financial targets.
  • Schedule and attend on-site customer demos in partnership with the pre-sales engineering team.
  • Use entrepreneurial "flair" to create compelling and innovative commercial proposals.
  • Partner with various internal groups (e.g., Engineering, pricing, marketing) when developing new proposals and commercial offers.
  • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows and conferences to promote our products, increase market awareness and develop new relationships.
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision (post initial onboarding training and familiarisation period) while maintaining good communication with the wider team.
  • Maintain CRM and provide regular and accurate opportunity and pipeline status.

### Qualifications

  • 7-12 years of experience either working for or selling into a large US-based OEM.
  • 5-7 years of B2B or B2G sales experience in a related field (e.g. Avionics).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Existing contacts and network within the large US defense primes and OEMs.
  • Prior experience in military or commercial satellite communications (SATCOM).
  • Experience in selling or delivering aircraft modifications.
  • Ability to learn quickly and make effective decisions.
  • Meet tight time constraints and deadlines.
  • Act tactically to meet near-term goals and objectives.
  • Think strategically to help position for future growth.

Base Pay: 144,000.00 - 180,000.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive: Bonus Plan at 20% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
